This service is specific for mainframe environments.

The main objective is to verify the presence of resource critical situations, mission critical application performance problems, incorrect system parameters and abnormal workloads behaviours, identifying possible corrections.

The activity is divided in the following phases:

Phase 1: data collection
In this phase we collect data from some representative days, for both production and test systems.

Phase 2: resource analysis, parameters and system components verification
The data is analyzed, comparing various periods in order to identify and avoid occasional events, and a preliminary report is produced and discussed with the customer’s system analysts. At the end of this meeting the real problems are highlighted, and actions to be taken are discussed.

Phase 3: workload analysis
The data is analyzed, comparing various periods in order to identify and avoid occasional events, to identify workloads that use an abnormal amount of resources or present bad performances. A preliminary report is produced and discussed with the customer’s system analysts and eventually with the customer’s departments that are meant to control business applications, and together we decide what actions must be taken to improve system and workload efficiency.

Phase 4: verification of the changes applied and of the obtained results, and production of the final report.
In this phase we collect and analyze data from some representative days after the modifications (agreed in phase 2 and 3) have been applied. Finally we produce a final report containing the agreed actions and the results obtained.

This service can be repeated over time.
