Configuration Changes Automatic Control

(Story 1) On Monday morning a production system was suffering a strong CPU constraint; looking at EPV Configuration Changes Performance Analysts verified that on Saturday a CP was taken from PROD and assigned to another LPAR to run some tests; unfortunately nobody remembered to give the CP back to PROD.

(Story 2) Configuration changes showed the system service unit rate has changed. It was ¼ than normally. All the transactions in WLM multi period service classes were ending in the first period and as a consequence CICS performance were degraded by TSO. After a quick search performance analysts found both the PTF causing the problem and the one to solve it.
